In an official press release Feb 17th, Marvel presented a six page preview of the new Fantastic Four comic book issue. The new series, called FF, written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Steve Epting, follows what’s left of the Fantastic Four in the aftermath of the Human Torch’s death. The Human Torch has left behind a message that in the event of his death, Spider-Man should join the team. The team takes the Human Torch’s suggestion and together with Spider-Man, forms the Future Foundation.
Says Marvel: “The fight for tomorrow begins today! In the wake of the Human Torch’s sacrifice, Marvels’ first family has re-emerged as the Future Foundation. Spider-Man may be their newest teammate, but who else has signed up to protect the future from itself? And what does their presence portend for the world at large?”
This exciting new series will allow readers to witness the birth of a new super-team, like nothing seen before. Get your first look at several pages of the new issue. Marvel’s FF #1 hits shelves on March 23rd.
