Cabra Cini Voodoo Junkie Hit Woman #1
Written and Created by: Sam Johnson
Art and lettering by: Bruno Letizia
Color Art by: Rodrigo Diaz
Cabra's story goes a little something like this: In a desperate effort for revenge, Cabra Cini turns to Voodoo as a means of ridding herself of her abusive boyfriend/pimp. As the drug addled heroine delves into the world of Voodoo magic she discovers something . . . SHE LIKES IT!
Upon eliminating her boyfriend, Cini trades in her life of crack and prostitution for other worldly adventures through a dimension known as “The Infinity”, confronting the keeper of this realm “Rook” and her own rocky past along the way emerging at any location she so desires to administer street justice to those who deserve it.
While the art in this comic is nothing new and ground breaking, it does a great job of emphasizing the story line and it maintains a traditional style any fan of comic book art could appreciate. The color is bold and full of texture breathing a bit of new life into the traditional art. The story line and characters are unique in their concepts but feel almost embryonic in their development. As a whole this was well worth the few minutes I spent reading it and I look forward to seeing Sam Johnson’s vision mature and develop in the future.
Cabra Cini Voodoo Hit Woman was included in issue #4 of the visionary comics series Digital Visions.
Digital Visions #4 is available for free download at Drive-Thru Comics (you'll need to open a Drive-Thru account, but it's quick and easy and you'll have access to a multitude of comics for download).
