Now that X-Men: First Class has proven to be a successful relaunch of the franchise, Fox is looking to continue the trend with Daredevil.
Daredevil (if you dare to recall…) has already been adapted to the big screen way back in 2003 with Ben Affleck playing the title role. This version was panned by critics and source material fans alike, and was never continued beyond the first picture. Daredevil is still one of Marvel’s premiere characters and they are certainly willing to try this franchise again, only this time with David Slade directing (30 Days of Night, Twilight: Eclipse) and now Brad Caleb Kane as writer. Kane is a writer and producer on the hit FOX television series Fringe.
Reportedly, the story that is being adapted for this new film is from Frank Miller’s “Born Again” Daredevil series. I’m sure FOX hopes that the series has more lasting power this time around. Adapting a solid story by legendary writer Frank Miller is a good start, that’s for sure.
No word on casting as of yet.
