Batman is Back - First Glimpse of Bane

Spoilers ahead!

The Dark Knight Rises is currently being filmed and Eyeprime has scored some pretty compelling images of Batman fighting the film’s villain, Bane. The two are shown in a bout of fisticuffs in front of the filmic location of Gotham City Hall (actually in Pittsburgh, Pa).

This is the first real glimpse we have of Bane. What do you think? Certainly a departure from the comic book visage. The Batman back-breaker looks less menacing here than he ever did in the comics or even the animated series. Perhaps they plan on going the CGI route to bulk him up in post production. I guess we will have to wait until 2012 to find out!

Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 5:55 PM I think I like it...The whole luchadore costume wouldn't play into Nolan's "real world" Gotham. My interest mainly lies in how Gordon-Levitt is going to be used. Reply

Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 8:52 AM That's true about the Luchadore look. I just wonder if they will have some kind of progression from smaller Bane to a more grotesque, muscle-monster Bane. I wonder if they will have the venom working as rapidly as it does in the comics, or if it's over time. Reply
