The force is strong with our friends over at Halloweencostumes.com as they’ve just kicked off a very cool auction over on their site. They’ve gathered artists from all over the country to take part in a charity auction that uses a replica Darth Vader helmet as a common canvas. The results are beautiful, unique, and hilarious with subjects ranging from donuts to Dia De Los Muertos.

The auction is happening right now, so please go check out ALL the helmets out and put in a bid, because it’s for a good cause, and who doesn’t want a wicked original piece of art? It's classy and stuff. Check it out!

The Nitty Gritty:
Bidding opened February 7th, 2012 at 12pm CST. Individuals can enter a dollar amount to place a bid on a helmet. The placement of a bid will start a 24 hour timer. If another bidder places a higher bid within that 24 hours, the timer will start again and the new high bidder will have 24 hours to be outbid. This process will continue until a high bidder maintains his or her position for all 24 hours. Each helmet's auction, timer, and bidding functions independently. Please note that shipping costs are NOT included in the bid amount.
Note: After you place a bid, you will receive email confirmation that your bid has been received. If you are outbid during the 24 hour period, you will be notified that you are no longer the high bidder. If your bid has won the helmet, you will receive an email with further details, including shipping costs.
