Who is Calendar Man?

Few villains wear their obsession quite so literally as Calendar Man, a DC rogue whose entire identity is built around the theme of dates, seasons, and the turning of time itself. Debuting in the Bronze Age pages of Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe #4 (1985), he's carved out a distinctive corner of Gotham's rogues gallery over more than four decades of publication — turning up most reliably in Detective Comics, Batman, and Batman/Superman. With two key collector issues to his name and a roster of co-stars that reads like a who's who of Gotham's finest — Batman, Robin, Catwoman, and Bruce Wayne among them — Calendar Man has proven surprisingly durable for a villain whose hook sounds, on paper, like a novelty. Fifty-six catalog appearances and counting says otherwise; this is one date worth marking.
