Dream Weaver
Stepping out of the mystical corners of Marvel's early '90s, Dream Weaver made their debut in Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #33 (1991), conjured into existence by the creative trio of Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas, and Chris Marrinan. It's a fittingly arcane birthplace for a character whose very name evokes the shadowy, otherworldly atmosphere that defined Doctor Strange's world during the Copper Age. With a catalog presence stretching all the way to 2021, Dream Weaver has proven surprisingly durable for a figure who shares their strange corner of the Marvel universe with heavy hitters like Thor, Brother Voodoo, and the voodoo villain Black Talon. Rare and elusive — just four catalogued appearances, collected in the Doctor Strange Epic Collection and the handsome Sorcerer Supreme Omnibus — Dream Weaver is exactly the kind of deep-cut discovery that makes digging through Marvel's mystical mythology so rewarding.
