Fortress Maximus
Few Transformers loom as large — literally or figuratively — as Fortress Maximus, who made his Marvel Comics entrance in The Transformers: Headmasters #2 in 1987, brought to life by the creative team of Bob Budiansky and Frank Springer. Emerging in the thick of the Copper Age, this towering figure found himself in extraordinary company, sharing pages with the likes of Chromedome, Scorponok, Hardhead, Duros, and Brainstorm across both Headmasters and the main Transformers series. His run was brief but memorable, concentrated in that landmark 1987–1988 window when the Headmasters concept was electrifying Marvel's Transformers universe. For collectors, any appearance of Fortress Maximus carries that special charge of a character who arrived with genuine presence and left a mark far exceeding his page count.
