Emerging in the final stretch of Archie's beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures run, Mokoshan made their debut in 1995 alongside some seriously impressive company — Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Ninjara, and Inky among them. It's a small but meaningful footprint in one of the Copper/Modern Age's most adventurous and underappreciated TMNT titles, a series that consistently pushed beyond the cartoon's boundaries into wilder, more imaginative territory. With only three catalog appearances, Mokoshan is the kind of rare, late-run discovery that rewards the dedicated long-box diver who stuck with the book all the way to its ambitious end.
