Mr. Scratch

A creature of the Modern Age Marvel universe, Mr. Scratch scratched his way into existence in 2000 courtesy of creator Chris Giarrusso, debuting in the pages of Spider-Woman #13. With only a handful of appearances to his name, he's the kind of rare, shadowy figure that dedicated Spider-Woman fans and completionists treasure — sharing those pages with the likes of Mattie Franklin and a cast that includes the memorably named Flesh and Miss Itch. Brief but intriguing, Mr. Scratch is exactly the sort of deep-cut Marvel curiosity that makes digging through early 2000s back issues such a rewarding adventure.
