Few characters carry a name quite as deliciously aristocratic as Nastalathia Smythe-Heatherstone, who stepped onto the page in Terry and the Pirates #6 in 1987, brought to life under the legendary creative hand of Milton Caniff. A Copper Age arrival in NBM's revival of that storied adventure strip, she inhabits a world peopled by some of comics' most colorful classic figures — Burma, Connie, Big Stoop, Terry, and Pat Ryan among them. Her catalog footprint is small, just three appearances, but in Terry and the Pirates even a brief presence puts you in rarefied company, and a name like hers isn't easily forgotten.
