Who is Ringer?

Debuting in the pages of Marc Spector: Moon Knight #10 in 1990, Ringer is a Marvel villain who emerged at the dawn of the Copper/Modern Age and has proven surprisingly durable — still turning up in comics as recently as 2024. Affiliated with both A.I.M. and the notorious Batroc's Brigade, this is a character who runs with serious mercenary company, sharing adventures with the likes of Captain America, Taskmaster, and Frank Payne across marquee titles like Avengers: The Initiative, Captain America, and Amazing Spider-Man. Created by Charles Dixon and Sal Velluto, Ringer occupies that satisfying corner of the Marvel universe where street-level villainy meets superspy intrigue — the kind of recurring antagonist that dedicated readers love to spot lurking in the margins of a big story.
