Ade Capone
Ade Capone was an Italian comic book writer, best known for his long run on the adventure series *Zagor* and for creating the popular character Lazarus Ledd. He was born on 26 December 1958 in Piacenza, Italy, and died on 4 February 2015 in Salsomaggiore Terme.
Capone entered the comics industry in the mid-1980s, writing for Sergio Bonelli Editore. His early work included stories for *Mister No* and *Zagor*, where he became a regular writer. In 1992, he launched his own creation, *Lazarus Ledd*, a sci-fi and fantasy series about a man with a mysterious past and superhuman abilities. The series became a cult hit, running for over a decade and earning Capone a dedicated following. He also co-created the character Samuel Sand and wrote for titles like *Morgan (La Sacra Ruota)* and *Goccianera*.
Capone’s writing style blended action, mystery, and character-driven plots, often exploring themes of identity and redemption. He collaborated frequently with artists such as Gallieno Ferri and Michele Pepe. Over his career, he was credited on 22 issues in our catalog, with his most active period spanning from 1986 to 2008.
Though he never received major industry awards, Capone’s influence on Italian comics is evident in the continued popularity of *Lazarus Ledd* and his contributions to *Zagor*. He passed away at age 56, leaving behind a body of work that remains admired by fans of European adventure comics.
