Andy Hartnell
Andy Hartnell is an American comic book writer and colorist best known as the co-creator of the action-adventure series *Danger Girl*. He came to prominence in the late 1990s through his work at Jim Lee’s Wildstorm Productions, where he helped launch the franchise that became a signature property for the studio. Hartnell’s career in comics spans from 1996 to 2016, during which he was credited on over fifty issues, primarily as a writer. His most frequent titles include *Danger Girl*, *Rokkin*, and several *Danger Girl* spin-offs such as *Body Shots*, *Back in Black*, and the crossover *Danger Girl / G.I. Joe*. He also contributed to *Army of Darkness: Ashes 2 Ashes*. Hartnell’s work is characterized by a sleek, cinematic style that blends espionage, humor, and high-energy action, often collaborating with artists like J. Scott Campbell. While *Danger Girl* remains his most enduring creation, his later projects continued to explore genre mash-ups and licensed properties. Hartnell’s legacy is tied to the late-1990s boom of creator-owned, visually driven comics, and his series has maintained a cult following through collected editions and merchandise.
