Anthony Horowitz
Anthony Horowitz was born on 5 April 1955 in England. He is best known as a prolific novelist and screenwriter, particularly for his young-adult Alex Rider series, which follows a 14-year-old spy for MI6. His other notable series for younger readers include The Power of Five and The Diamond Brothers. For adult audiences, he has written Sherlock Holmes novels *The House of Silk* and *Moriarty*, as well as the Atticus Pünd and Susan Ryeland mysteries beginning with *Magpie Murders*. He also created a series featuring a fictionalized version of himself alongside private investigator Daniel Hawthorne, starting with *The Word Is Murder*. The Ian Fleming estate selected him to write three James Bond novels using unpublished material, beginning with *Trigger Mortis*. Horowitz has written extensively for television, contributing scripts to *Agatha Christie's Poirot* and adapting early episodes of *Midsomer Murders*. He created the ITV series *Foyle's War*, *Collision*, and *Injustice*, as well as the BBC series *Crime Traveller* and *New Blood*. His comic book work is limited, with credits on 12 issues across titles such as *Alex Rider*, *Stormbreaker*, and *Super Detective Library*.
