Barbara Randall
Barbara Randall Kesel, born Barbara Randall on October 2, 1960, is an American comic book writer and editor whose career spans from the mid-1980s into the 2010s. She is best known for her work across multiple major publishers, including DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse, CrossGen, IDW, and Image. Randall entered the industry during the direct-market boom, quickly establishing herself as a versatile writer and editor. Her most recognized credits include runs on *Action Comics* and *Batman*, as well as the *Batgirl Special* and *Batman Presents*. She also contributed to the *Crisis on Infinite Earths Companion Deluxe Edition* and *DC Comics Presents*. Randall often collaborated with artists such as Tom Grummett and Dick Giordano, and she co-created the character of Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) with writer Kelley Puckett and artist Damion Scott. Later in her career, she worked on licensed properties and independent projects.
