Bill Mumy
Bill Mumy was born Charles William Mumy Jr. on February 1, 1954, in the United States. He is best known to comics readers for a decade of scripting work from 1987 to 1998, contributing to titles such as *Comet Man*, *Lost in Space*, *Star Trek*, *Marvel Comics Presents*, *Aquaman*, and the idiosyncratic *Trypto the Acid Dog*. Before turning to comics, Mumy had already built a notable career as a child actor—credited as "Billy Mumy"—with memorable roles on *The Twilight Zone*, *Bewitched*, and a three-season run as Will Robinson on the 1960s sci-fi series *Lost in Space*. He later played Lennier on all five seasons of *Babylon 5* and narrated the Emmy-winning series *Biography*.
A musician as well, Mumy is an Emmy nominee for original music on *Adventures in Wonderland* (1992). He performed as half of the duo Barnes & Barnes and, from the late 1980s through the 1990s, played at San Diego Comic-Con and other events with the band Seduction of the Innocent, which released one CD, *The Golden Age*. His comics work, while a smaller part of his overall creative life, reflects the same genre-savvy imagination that shaped his acting and music. Mumy remains active as a performer and composer.
