Bob Gale was born Michael Robert Gale on May 25, 1951, in the United States. He is best known as the co-writer and co-producer of the *Back to the Future* film trilogy, working alongside director Robert Zemeckis. Gale’s role as the franchise’s primary steward led actor Michael J. Fox to call him the “gatekeeper” of the series. His comic book career began in 1999 and continued through 2017, during which he was credited as a writer on 34 issues. His most frequent credits include *Daredevil*, *Back to the Future*, *Peter Parker*, *The Amazing Spider-Man*, *Back to the Future: Biff to the Future*, and *Detective Comics*. Gale’s comic work often expanded on the *Back to the Future* universe, notably co-creating the miniseries *Biff to the Future*. His style blends sharp dialogue with a keen sense of continuity, and he collaborated with artists such as John Romita Jr. on *Daredevil*. Later in life, Gale remained active as a writer and producer, continuing to oversee the *Back to the Future* franchise’s legacy. He has received several awards for his film work, including the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation for the original *Back to the Future* film.
