Carla Speed McNeil is an American cartoonist and writer best known for her science fiction comic series *Finder*. Born in 1969, she emerged in the mid-1990s and has worked as a writer, artist, colorist, letterer, and inker across more than sixty issues. Her most prominent work, *Finder*, is a dense, character-driven saga set in a far-future world shaped by clan politics and technology. She also contributed to series such as *Queen & Country* and *No Mercy*, and her short pieces appeared in *Dark Horse Presents*. McNeil’s style blends meticulous linework with expressive, often muted color palettes, and she frequently collaborates with other creators on anthology projects. She co-created the graphic novel *Finder: Sin-Eater* and the whimsical *Shanda the Panda*. Later in her career, she has continued to produce independent work and teach, earning recognition for her world-building and narrative depth. Her contributions have been honored with multiple Eisner Award nominations and wins, solidifying her influence in alternative and science fiction comics.
