Clint McElroy
Clint McElroy was born on August 10, 1955. He is best known as a co-creator and performer on the popular podcast *The Adventure Zone*, but his career in comics stretches back decades. Before entering podcasting, McElroy worked as a radio personality and hosted several FM shows in West Virginia, and he also serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Theatre at Marshall University.
McElroy’s path into comics began in the early 1990s, with his first credited work appearing in 1992. Over the next thirty years, he wrote 21 issues, with his most prolific runs including *Blood Is the Harvest*, *Freejack*, and *Parts Unknown*. He also wrote for *The Green Hornet: Dark Tomorrow* and contributed to Marvel’s *War of the Realms: Journey into Mystery*. His writing style is often noted for its sharp dialogue and willingness to blend genre elements, particularly horror and adventure. Among his key collaborators is his son, Travis McElroy, with whom he co-wrote several projects.
Later in his career, McElroy’s work on *The Adventure Zone* brought him a new generation of fans and helped popularize actual-play podcasting. While he has not received major industry awards, his influence on modern geek culture is substantial, particularly for bridging traditional comic storytelling with the emerging podcast medium.
