Dan Curtis Johnson
Dan Curtis Johnson is an American comic book writer and programmer, best known for co-creating the DC Comics series *Chase* with artist J. H. Williams III. Born in the United States, he entered comics in the late 1990s, quickly establishing a reputation for inventive, character-driven work. His most enduring contribution may be reimagining the former low-level supervillain Mister Bones as a high-ranking bureaucrat within the Department of Extranormal Operations, an organization Johnson also created. Beyond *Chase*, he wrote numerous *Secret Files* one-shots and contributed to titles such as *Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight*, *Batman: Snow*, *Marvel Knights: Millennial Visions*, *Sins of Youth: JLA, Jr.*, and *The Flash Secret Files*. His writing credits span from 2000 to 2014, totaling ten issues. Writer Gail Simone has praised him as belonging in her personal hall of fame. Outside comics, Johnson participated in the DHMO hoax, creating a satirical website for DHMO.org. Though his comic book output is relatively compact, his work—particularly with Williams—remains admired for its cleverness and world-building.
