David Newbold
David Newbold, born in 1976 in Leesburg, Virginia, and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia, is a comic book artist and inker best known for his brief but notable tenure on Marvel's award-winning series *Runaways*. After graduating from Morgantown High School in 1994, he attended West Virginia University before enrolling at Joe Kubert's Art School in Dover, New Jersey, graduating in 2000. Newbold's first professional work came in 2004, inking an issue of *Marvel Age Fantastic Four*. He soon became publicly recognized for his contributions to *Runaways*, collaborating with writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Adrian Alphona. Newbold also inked the *Weapon X* series. His career credits span 14 issues from 2002 to 2018, with additional work on *Marvel Age Spider-Man Team-Up*, *Mercy Sparx*, and the *Runaways Halloween Comic Fest 2017* special. Newbold's precise, clean inking style complemented the dynamic storytelling of his collaborators. While his time in the industry was relatively brief, his work on *Runaways* remains a highlight, contributing to the series' acclaimed run. He is a graduate of the Joe Kubert School, a significant foundation for many comics professionals.
