Eric Battle
1967–
Eric Battle is an American illustrator known for his clean, contemporary comic art and fully painted illustrations for publishing. Born in 1967, he broke into the industry in the mid-1990s and over three decades has drawn many of DC and Marvel’s top-tier heroes, including Spider-Man, Batman, the Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman. His most credited work appears on titles such as *Aquaman*, *Kobalt*, *George R. R. Martin's Wild Cards: The Hard Call*, *The Harvester*, *Impulse*, and *Tales of the Unexpected*. Battle has also been a frequent panelist at the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention and has shared his insights on radio programs like WHAT 1340 AM, Hard Knock Radio, and in interviews with *The Philadelphia Inquirer* and Black America Web. His career, spanning from 1994 to 2023 across 70 credited issues, reflects a steady presence in mainstream superhero comics, though he remains less widely known than some of his contemporaries. Battle’s legacy lies in his consistent, professional craft and his role as a visible African American artist in an industry still working toward fuller representation.
