Eric Luke
Eric Luke was born on December 17, 1956, in Palo Alto, California. He is best known in film for writing the screenplay to Joe Dante's 1985 sci-fi adventure *Explorers*, but his comics career, spanning 1994 to 2011, earned him a devoted following. Luke wrote 62 issues, with his most substantial work appearing on *Ghost* for Dark Horse Comics, where he defined the supernatural antihero's tone and mythos. He also penned a notable run on *Wonder Woman*, bringing a cinematic sense of pacing and character-driven conflict to the Amazon's world. His style combined sharp dialogue with moody, atmospheric storytelling, often exploring themes of identity and redemption. Key collaborators included artists like Adam Hughes and Ivan Reis. Luke co-created the character Ghost (Elisa Cameron) and shaped her solo series, including the *Ghost Omnibus* and the *Ghost: Nocturnes* miniseries. Later in life, he continued to write for both comics and film, though he never sought the spotlight. While major industry awards eluded him, his work on *Ghost* remains a cult touchstone, and his *Wonder Woman* issues are fondly remembered by fans for their emotional depth.
