Gary Glasberg (July 15, 1966 – September 28, 2016) was an American television writer and producer best known in comics for his work on licensed humor titles in the 1990s. Born in New York City, he built a career primarily in television, where he served as showrunner for *NCIS* and created *NCIS: New Orleans*. His path into comics began with writing for animated series, which led to scripting tie-in issues for *Simpsons Comics*, *Bartman*, and *Animaniacs* between 1995 and 2021. Glasberg’s comic work is almost entirely associated with *The Simpsons* franchise, contributing to *Simpsons Comics Spectacular* and the main *Simpsons* series. His style leaned toward brisk, gag-driven dialogue that fit the show’s tone. Key collaborators included the regular *Simpsons Comics* creative team, though he did not co-create any major characters or series in the medium. Later in life, he focused on television production, helming *NCIS* for several seasons. He died in 2016 at age 50. Glasberg’s legacy in comics remains modest, tied to his contributions to one of the industry’s most successful licensed humor lines. He received no major comic book awards.
