Jeff Loveness
Jeff Loveness is an American screenwriter and comic book writer, born in 1989 in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his work on the television series *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* and *Rick and Morty*, as well as writing the 2023 Marvel film *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania*. In comics, Loveness was active from 2014 to 2020, credited on 32 issues. His most notable work includes the *Groot* series, where he explored the gentle side of the Guardians of the Galaxy’s tree-like member; *World Reader*, a creator-owned fantasy story; and *Strange Skies Over East Berlin*, a Cold War-era espionage thriller. He also wrote for *Nova*, *Shazam!*, and *Justice League*. Loveness often collaborated with artists like Ramon Perez and Juan Doe, blending heartfelt character moments with genre twists. His later career shifted primarily to film and television, where he continues to write. He has not received major comic industry awards, but his work on *Rick and Morty* earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program in 2018. Loveness’s comic run remains admired for its emotional sincerity and inventive storytelling.
