Mac Walters
Mac Walters, a Canadian video game writer and developer, is best known for his extensive contributions to the *Mass Effect* franchise at BioWare. Born in 1972 in Canada, he began his career in the gaming industry before transitioning into comics. From 2010 to 2016, Walters wrote 31 comic book issues, primarily for Dark Horse Comics, expanding the *Mass Effect* universe. His most credited titles include *Mass Effect: Foundation*, *Mass Effect: Evolution*, *Mass Effect: Redemption*, *Mass Effect: Homeworlds*, and *Mass Effect: Invasion*, as well as a story for *MySpace Dark Horse Presents*. Collaborating closely with BioWare artists and writers, Walters helped flesh out the lore and backstories of key characters like Garrus Vakarian and the Illusive Man. His work on *Mass Effect: Redemption* served as a direct bridge between the second and third games, while *Evolution* delved into the origins of the Illusive Man. Walters later continued his career at BioWare, contributing to the *Mass Effect* and *Anthem* games. He has not received major individual awards for his comic work, but his narrative contributions remain integral to the *Mass Effect* mythos, influencing both the games and their transmedia expansions.
