Mark Sable

Mark Sable (born June 22, 1975) is an American comic book writer whose work spans stage, screen, and the page. He is best known for his grounded, character-driven stories in the superhero and horror genres, with a particular focus on the DC Universe. Sable entered comics in the mid-2000s, quickly establishing himself with a run on *DC Special: Cyborg* and the miniseries *Grounded*, which explored the aftermath of trauma. His signature style blends psychological depth with visceral action, often in collaboration with artists like Paul Azaceta and Alejandro Colucci. Among his notable co-creations are the military horror series *Graveyard of Empires* and the Lovecraftian thriller *Miskatonic*. He also wrote *Two-Face: Year One*, a definitive origin for the Batman villain. Later in his career, Sable expanded into television and theater, while continuing to write for comics. His work has been recognized with multiple award nominations, including an Eisner nod for *Miskatonic*.
