Mike Noble
Mike Noble was a British comic artist and illustrator, born on 17 September 1930. He is best remembered for his work on the *Fireball XL5* strip in *TV Century 21*, a series that brought the Gerry Anderson puppet show to the printed page with sleek, dynamic artwork. Noble entered comics through illustration, contributing to a range of British anthology titles. His style was clean, energetic, and well-suited to action and science fiction, often working in collaboration with writers and editors at the Fleetway and IPC stables. Over a career spanning from 1966 to 2017, he contributed to 16 issues across titles including *TV21*, *Conny*, *Look-In Summer Extra*, and *Star Trek Graphic Novel Collection*. He also worked on *TV2000* and various summer specials. Noble’s later years saw his art featured in archival collections, cementing his place in British comics history. He died on 15 November 2018. While major industry awards are not recorded for him, his legacy endures as a key artist of the 1960s British comic boom, particularly for fans of Anderson’s TV universe.
