Neary
Paul Neary was a British comic book artist and inker, best known for his work on Marvel UK titles and for co-creating the character Death's Head. Born in 1949, he passed away in 2024. Neary entered the comics industry in the late 1970s, initially working on black-and-white reprints and new material for Marvel's British line. His clean, dynamic linework and strong storytelling made him a reliable hand on action-oriented books. He is most recognized for his long run inking *Captain America*, often over pencils by artists like Ron Garney, and for his contributions to *Excalibur* and *The Incredible Hulk Weekly*. With writer Simon Furman, Neary co-created the popular robot bounty hunter Death's Head, who first appeared in *The Transformers* before getting his own series. Later in his career, he worked on titles such as *Future Tense* and provided covers for the Brazilian edition *Wizard Brasil*. Neary's career spanned from 1979 to 2005, with credits on 19 issues in our catalog. His influence is felt in the polished, accessible style he brought to superhero comics, and he remains a respected figure among fans of British comics history.
