Reginald Bunn (c. 1905–1971) was a British comic book artist best known for his highly detailed, angular style and for co-creating the classic British strip *The Spider* for *Lion* with writer Ted Cowan. Born around 1905, Bunn began his career as a young man producing commissioned portraits and caricatures. During World War II, he lived in Liverpool, where a serious motor accident in 1944 left him paralysed from the neck down. Defying predictions that he would never walk again, he recovered through immense effort, though he suffered back problems for the rest of his life. After the war, Bunn worked as a draughtsman at Rolls-Royce in Derby. In 1949, Amalgamated Press held a nationwide search for artists; Bunn was a joint winner and soon began drawing for titles such as *The Comet* (on *Buck Jones* and *Robin Hood*), *Sun* (on *Clip McCord*), and *Thriller Comics*. His most celebrated work came for *Lion*, where he brought his meticulous, angular linework to *The Spider*. Bunn married and had three children—two sons and a daughter—and worked from a home studio for more than twenty years. He died in 1971 at age sixty-six.
