Robert Loren Fleming
Robert Loren Fleming was born on November 5, 1956, in the United States. He is best known as the co-creator of the ambitious DC Comics series *Thriller*, which he developed with artist Trevor Von Eeden. Fleming’s career in comics began in the early 1980s, and he became a frequent collaborator with Keith Giffen, contributing to offbeat, character-driven projects. His most credited work includes runs on *Eclipso*, *Valor*, and *Ragman*, as well as the *Ambush Bug: Year None* and *Son of Ambush Bug* specials. Fleming’s writing often blended dark fantasy with sharp, satirical humor, and his partnership with Giffen produced some of the era’s most inventive superhero stories. Over a four-decade career, he wrote 131 issues, with his last credited work appearing in 2023. While he never received major industry awards, his cult-favorite creations like *Thriller* and his contributions to DC’s supernatural and humor titles have earned him a dedicated following among fans of 1980s and 1990s comics.
