Robert Morales (February 3, 1958 – April 18, 2013) was an American comic book writer, editor, and journalist. He is best known for creating the 2003 miniseries *Truth: Red, White & Black* for Marvel Comics, which introduced the character Isaiah Bradley, a Black soldier subjected to the super-soldier experiment before Steve Rogers. Morales’s work on that series, drawn by Kyle Baker, remains his most celebrated contribution to the medium. Before breaking into comics, he worked as an editor at *Vibe* and *Reflex* magazines during the 1990s and 2000s. His other Marvel credits include issues of *Captain America*. Morales’s writing often tackled themes of race, history, and identity within the superhero framework. He passed away in 2013 at age 55. While he did not receive major industry awards during his lifetime, *Truth: Red, White & Black* has been recognized as a landmark story that expanded Marvel’s narrative scope.
