Robert van der Kroft was born in Haarlem, Netherlands, on 1 April 1952. He is best known as the long-running artist of the classic Dutch comic strip *Sjors & Sjimmie*, which he has drawn since 1977, and for creating his own series *Claire* in 1988. Beyond his comic strip work, van der Kroft co-founded the Dutch comics magazines *De Vrije Balloen* in 1975 and *Zone 5300* in 1994. He has also worked as a musician and disc jockey. His signature style blends clear, expressive linework with a lively sense of color and humor, making his pages instantly recognizable. In addition to his regular strips, he has contributed to *Eppo* and *Donald Duck*. Since 2016, he has been a promoter of the Cross Comix Festival in Rotterdam. Van der Kroft’s career spans over four decades, with credits as artist, colorist, inker, letterer, and writer on more than 100 issues.
