Rodney Barnes
Rodney Barnes is an American screenwriter and producer best known in comics for his horror-tinged creator-owned series *Killadelphia* and his work on Marvel’s *Falcon*. Born in the United States, he entered the entertainment industry as a television writer and producer, contributing to series such as *The Boondocks*, *My Wife and Kids*, *Everybody Hates Chris*, and *Those Who Can't*, before moving into live-action drama with *Marvel’s Runaways*, *American Gods*, and *Wu-Tang: An American Saga*. He also served as an executive producer, writer, and actor on HBO’s *Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty*.
Barnes transitioned to comics in 2017, bringing his sharp dialogue and genre-blending sensibilities to titles including *James Bond: Himeros*, *Batman: Full Moon*, *30 Days of Night: Falling Sun*, and the Marvel event tie-in *King in Black: Planet of the Symbiotes*. His most celebrated work remains *Killadelphia*, a horror series that reimagines vampire mythology through American history and social commentary. His television work has earned recognition from the Peabody Awards, American Film Institute, Writers Guild of America, BET Comedy Awards, and NAACP Image Awards.
