Sergio Tarquinio, born 13 October 1925, was an Italian painter and comics artist best known for his adventure comics crafted for a broad, general readership. His work regularly appeared in monthly magazines sold at French newsstands, a format often called "pocket-sized comics." Tarquinio’s career in comics spanned from 1956 to 2016, with his most credited titles including *Cowboy Picture Library*, *Ken Parker*, *Ken Parker - Serie Oro*, *Texas*, *Collana Rodeo*, and *Thriller Comics Library*. He specialized in Western and adventure genres, bringing a painterly sensibility to his sequential art. Among his key collaborators were writers and artists on the *Ken Parker* series, a long-running Italian Western comic. Tarquinio died in Cremona on 11 January 2026, at the age of 100. His legacy endures as a prolific contributor to the European pocket-comic tradition, influencing generations of adventure artists with his dynamic storytelling and atmospheric linework.
