Sergio Zaniboni was an Italian comics artist and writer, best known for his long tenure illustrating stories for the seminal crime comic *Diabolik*. Born on 4 August 1937 in Italy, he began his career in the 1970s and quickly became a key visual contributor to the franchise, working on numerous issues from 1976 through 2010. His style was clean, dynamic, and well-suited to the sleek, suspenseful world of the master thief Diabolik and his partner Eva Kant. Over his decades-long career, Zaniboni’s credits also included work on *Tex*, *L'Avventura*, and *Gli Albi di Orient Express*, demonstrating versatility across genres. He often collaborated with writers and editors who shaped the post-war Italian comics scene, though his name remains most closely tied to the *Diabolik* series. Zaniboni passed away on 18 August 2017, leaving behind a substantial body of work that helped define the visual identity of one of Italy’s most enduring comic book characters. While he did not receive major international awards, his contributions are respected by collectors and historians of European comics.
