Shirow Miwa

Shirow Miwa, born November 9, 1978, is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator best known for creating the *Dogs* manga series, for which he served as both writer and artist. He began his career contributing illustrations to magazines such as Square Enix's *Monthly Shōnen Gangan* and various tribute books, sometimes publishing under the circle name m.m.m. + Gee. Miwa is also an official member of the doujin band Supercell, working as an illustrator and designer.

His signature style combines dynamic, detailed linework with a gritty, urban aesthetic, particularly evident in *Dogs: Bullets & Carnage*, a series that gained an international following and was later adapted into an OVA. Miwa’s talents extend into video game character design, where he contributed to most entries in the *7th Dragon* series and *Soul Hackers 2*. In the American comic market, he is credited as artist, colorist, inker, and writer on 11 issues between 2009 and 2018, most notably for the *RWBY* manga adaptation. His work on *Dogs* and his game designs have cemented his reputation as a versatile creator in both manga and interactive media.
