Simon Hanselmann

Simon Hanselmann, born in 1981 in Australia, is a cartoonist widely recognized for his ongoing series *Megg, Mogg, and Owl*, which follows the drug-addled, often self-destructive lives of a witch, her cat, and an owl. He entered comics through self-published minicomics, later gaining a devoted following online before his work was collected by publishers. Hanselmann’s style is raw and expressive, blending crude, energetic linework with a keen eye for color and mood, often using watercolor washes to contrast the gritty, humorous, and sometimes heartbreaking narratives. He is the sole creator of his series, handling writing, art, coloring, and lettering. His notable works include *Bad Gateway*, *Crisis Zone*, *Hail Satan!*, and the *Hexe Total* and *FBI•Mini* series, with credits spanning from 2014 to 2022. A frequent award nominee, he has won two Eisner Awards and took home Best Series at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2018.
