Steve Horton
Steve Horton, born in 1977, is a comic book writer and graphic novelist who earned a place on the *New York Times* bestseller list. He graduated from Purdue University in 2002 with a BA in professional writing, then broke into comics in 2007 writing *Strongarm #1* for Image Comics. Over the next decade, he worked with IDW, Dark Horse, and Insight Comics, often collaborating with artists like Michael Dialynas on *Amala's Blade: Spirits of Naamaron* (2013) and Stephen Thompson on *Satellite Falling* (2018). His most celebrated work is *Bowie: Stardust, Rayguns, and Moonage Daydreams* (2020), a graphic biography illustrated by Michael Allred and colored by Laura Allred. The book won two Eisner Awards in 2021, cementing Horton's reputation for blending pop-culture reverence with sharp narrative craft. Though his credited output from 2007 to 2017 includes ten issues—primarily *Satellite Falling* and *Strongarm*—his later projects have reached a wider audience. Horton’s writing is marked by a clean, character-driven approach, and his collaborations with distinctive artists have produced visually striking, emotionally grounded stories. He remains active in the industry, with his Eisner wins underscoring a career that balances indie sensibilities with mainstream recognition.
