Steve Lavigne

Steve Lavigne was born on September 22, 1962, in the United States. He is best known for his long-running work as a letterer and colorist on the *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* series at Mirage Studios, where he helped define the visual texture of the franchise from its early days. Lavigne’s path into comics began in the mid-1980s, and his steady hand on the Turtles books made him a key behind-the-scenes contributor for decades. He also created the characters Cudley the Cowlick, Sgt. Bananas, and Stump and Sling. Over his career, which spans from 1985 to 2020, he is credited as artist, colorist, inker, letterer, and writer on 42 issues, with his most frequent credits appearing on *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles*, *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures*, *Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles*, and *Dino Island*. Lavigne’s signature style is clean, functional, and supportive of the story, making him an essential collaborator for Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
