Steve Rolston
Steve Rolston was born on February 8, 1978, in Canada, and currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is best known as the artist and inker of the first four issues of *Queen & Country*, the acclaimed espionage series written by Greg Rucka for Oni Press. Before breaking into comics, Rolston worked on storyboards for animated television series. His clean, expressive linework and strong storytelling made him a natural fit for the grounded, character-driven world of intelligence operatives. Beyond *Queen & Country*, his credits as artist, colorist, and writer span titles such as *Pounded*, *Mek*, and *The Escapists*, often collaborating with writers like Brian K. Vaughan and Matt Kindt. From 2005 to 2017, he taught "Introduction to Comic Book Production" at the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts, passing on his craft to a new generation. Rolston’s contributions to the medium remain most closely tied to the modern espionage genre, where his work helped define the visual tone of Rucka’s celebrated series. His career, active from 2001 to 2017, reflects a steady, thoughtful approach to both commercial and creator-owned projects.
