Robert Storm Petersen—known universally by his pen name Storm P.—was a Danish cartoonist, writer, animator, illustrator, painter, and humorist. Born on 19 September 1882 in Denmark, he became one of the country’s most beloved visual humorists. His career spanned multiple disciplines, but he is best remembered for his single-panel cartoons and comic strips, which combined a deceptively simple line with sharp, often philosophical wit. Storm P. worked primarily in Danish and Norwegian periodicals; his most credited titles in our catalog include *Norsk ukeblad*, *Aktuell*, *Aktuelle Storm P.*, and *Familien*, with credits as artist, inker, and writer on 14 issues from 1955 to 1976. His signature style—spare, expressive, and gently absurd—influenced generations of Scandinavian cartoonists. He collaborated closely with editors and writers at these magazines, though his most enduring co-creation is the character of *Peter og Ping* (Peter and Ping), a gentle, surreal duo. Storm P. died on 6 March 1949 in Denmark, leaving behind a legacy as a national treasure of Danish humor. His work continues to be anthologized, and he received posthumous recognition as a pioneer of modern cartooning in Scandinavia.
