Thomas Jane
Thomas Jane was born Thomas Elliott III on February 22, 1969, in Baltimore, Maryland. Though best known as an actor—most prominently as The Punisher in the 2004 film and as Ray Drecker on the HBO series *Hung*—he also carved a modest but distinctive path in comic books. His first foray into writing was the series *Bad Planet*, which he co-created and wrote, launching his comics career in 2005. Over the next five years, he wrote a dozen issues, including the offbeat *Alien Pig Farm 3000*. His style tends toward gritty, genre-blending horror and science fiction, often with a darkly humorous edge. Jane’s comics work is a natural extension of his acting interests, and he has occasionally collaborated with artists like Steve Niles and Tim Bradstreet. While his output is small, his direct involvement in the medium—writing, editing, and even adapting his own film *Dark Country* into a graphic novel—shows a genuine passion for the form. Jane has not received major comic book industry awards for his writing, but his contributions are noted by fans of cult genre material. He continues to act, recently taking on the role of Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy in *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*, but his brief, focused run in comics remains a distinctive footnote in his creative career.
