Tom Christopher

Tom Christopher (born 1952) is an American painter and comic book artist best known for his expressionist urban scenes of New York City and his work on Marvel’s cosmic titles. He began his career as a commercial artist before transitioning into comics in the late 1980s. Christopher is most recognized for his inking and art on *Silver Surfer*, *Nova*, and the *Silver Surfer Epic Collection*, as well as the miniseries *Isaac Asimov's I-BOTS* and the landmark event *The Infinity Gauntlet*. His style, rooted in bold, painterly strokes and a keen sense of cityscape atmosphere, brought a distinctive energy to superhero comics. Over a career spanning from 1987 to 2024, he contributed to 136 issues, often collaborating with writers like Jim Starlin and Ron Marz. Outside of comics, Christopher gained international acclaim for his gallery exhibitions in France, Germany, and Japan, cementing his reputation as a fine artist.
