Travis Charest

Travis Charest was born in 1969 in Canada. He is best known as a penciller, inker, and painter whose detailed line work and muted color palette made him a sought-after cover artist. Charest entered comics in the early 1990s, first gaining attention on DC’s *Darkstars* before moving to WildStorm, where he became a defining artist on *WildC.A.T.s*. His precise, intricate style—often compared to a fusion of European bande dessinée and American superhero dynamics—set him apart. He collaborated frequently with writer Joe Casey and inker Richard Friend, and his covers for *Star Wars* series at Dark Horse Comics became highly collectible. Charest co-created the *Grifter/Shi* one-shot and contributed to the *WildC.A.T.s/X-Men: The Golden Age* crossover. Later work included *The Metabarons* and Mark Millar’s *The Ambassadors*. His influence is acknowledged by artists such as Chrissie Zullo, Shelby Robertson, and David Marquez. Charest’s career spans from 1992 to 2021, with credits on 55 issues.
