Troy Brownfield
Troy Brownfield is a comic book writer, journalist, and educator best known for his work in horror and fantasy comics, particularly within Zenescope Entertainment's Grimm Universe. Born in Indiana, he built a reputation first as a columnist for Newsarama and as the founder and editor of ShotgunReviews.com before transitioning into writing comics. His most credited titles include *The Blood Queen*, *Grimm Fairy Tales Presents Zombies: The Cursed*, *Grimm Fairy Tales Myths & Legends*, *Grimm Tales of Terror Volume 2*, *Grimm Fairy Tales*, and *Wonderland*, with his active period spanning 2010 to 2017. Brownfield’s writing often blends dark folklore with modern horror, and he collaborated frequently with Zenescope’s stable of artists. In 2018, he joined *The Saturday Evening Post* as a staff writer, and by the September/October 2022 issues, he was named executive editor of that magazine as well as *Jack & Jill* and *Humpty Dumpty*. He also teaches at the college level. Brownfield’s career reflects a rare combination of pop-culture journalism, academic work, and hands-on comic scripting, making him a versatile figure in the industry.
