W. Haden Blackman

W. Haden Blackman is an American writer and game designer best known in comics for his work on *Batwoman*. He was born on August 14, 1972, in the United States. Blackman entered the industry through video game design, writing for titles such as the *Star Wars* franchise before transitioning to comics. His signature work came when he co-wrote the *Batwoman* series with J.H. Williams III, beginning with the *Batwoman: Elegy* storyline and continuing through the *Batwoman* ongoing series. The collaboration was notable for its intricate, gothic visuals and layered storytelling, with Blackman handling the scripts while Williams provided the art.
