Will Murray
Will Murray (born 1953) is an American novelist, journalist, and comic book writer best known for co-creating the superhero Squirrel Girl with artist Steve Ditko. He entered the industry in the 1980s, writing primarily for magazine-format comics and licensed properties. His most frequent credits include work on *The Destroyer*, *Comics Scene*, *Camp*, and *Magnum Special*—titles that often required him to write under pseudonyms. Murray’s collaboration with Ditko on Squirrel Girl, a cheerful, acrobatic heroine who debuted in a 1992 issue of *Marvel Super-Heroes*, stands as his most enduring contribution to the medium. The character later gained widespread popularity through animated series and solo comics. Beyond his comic work, Murray has written extensively on pulp fiction and adventure heroes, contributing to the preservation of that genre’s history. He remains active in writing and journalism, with a career spanning over four decades.
