Winshluss
Vincent Paronnaud, better known by his pen name Winshluss, was born on 20 February 1970 in France. He is a French comics artist and filmmaker. Winshluss is best known for his darkly satirical, often grotesque visual style and his subversive takes on classic stories. He first gained notice in the 1990s with his work on the series *Ferraille* and the absurdist humor of *Poin Poin*. His signature work is the graphic novel *Pinocchio*, a savage, adult reimagining of the Carlo Collodi tale, which he wrote and drew. For this book, he won the prestigious Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for Best Album in 2009. He frequently collaborates with other French cartoonists, and his other notable co-creations include the satirical *In God We Trust* and the short *Pinokio*. Beyond comics, Winshluss has worked as a filmmaker, co-directing the animated feature *Persepolis* with Marjane Satrapi. His later career has continued to blend comics and film, maintaining a reputation for provocative, politically charged storytelling.
